A Message from Emma

As promised, here's a special treat only for my readers to celebrate one year of blogging! I thought it'd be fun for ya'll to hear from the super star of the blog herself, my sweet little Emma girl! Now, she's quite a little talker these days. Some days her jibber jabber is reminiscent of vietnamese and other days it sounds quite middle eastern. Seriously, you have to hear it to appreciate it...so very funny! Her vocabulary does include some real words like: cow, da da, daisy, uh oh, ma ma, tractor, and a few others but she needed a little help today to get her message across. I helped her write a little sign to share with you guys....

In case you can't quite read her little sign, it says....

We are excited to announce that we are expecting baby #2 in April 2011!!! 
It's still pretty early (I'm about 6 weeks along) so we are sharing our news with our good friends and family and asking them to join us in praising God for another little blessing and praying for a healthy pregnancy. 

Farming Momma turns one!

Tomorrow I'm celebrating one year of blogging fun! It's been a fun year filled with new mommy brain mistakes, dairy-free eating, spiritual growth, and much much more. My tiny little itty bitty newborn has grown into a spunky toddler, hubby and I celebrated 2 years of marital bliss, and we've laughed and cried and everything in between. Thanks for joining us for the journey - I am beyond amazed that my stay at home mom, dairy farm life is anything worth reading but I continue to get little notes from my lovely readers saying how much you enjoy keeping up with me through this blog. 

I was trying to think of a way to celebrate my "birthday" with ya'll. I would love to do a giveaway, but I have no idea how to do giveaways, nor do I have anything to actually give away, so that idea is out. So here's what I'm thinking....it's two fold. First, FarmingMomma wants to hear from YOU! I thought it'd be fun for you guys to leave comments asking all those burning questions you've always wondered about (do I ever help with the milking? Why did we pick the name Emma? how did Jarred and I meet? you know....those types of "need to know" questions) Then, I'll do a post answering all the things you want to hear about! Fun, right?? 

Second, to honor you wonderful, devoted readers I want to treat you to something special! I'm going to keep you in suspense for that little treat until tomorrow's post. (on the actual birthday day) haha So....start brainstorming questions for me and stay tuned for tomorrow's post! 

Update Part 2 - the picture version!

It's been a long time coming.....

a post filled with some snapshots of what we've been up to! I finally took the time to sit down and upload our recent pictures while Emma took her morning nap. I'm hoping she'll stay asleep long enough for me to write this post, take a shower, and mop the kitchen floor. Wishful thinking? 

Alright, here we go.

The little miss has been B.U.S.Y. this summer. Remember this post when we took care of a manure covered little kitten? Well, he must have really liked us because even though we returned him to the barn with all of the other cats and mice and rats and plethora of other animals, he was sitting on the front porch waiting for us when we woke up the next morning. Emma thinks he's pretty awesome and his sole purpose on this earth is to let her pick him up and carry him around and throw him places. It's pretty cool to have something smaller than you that you can be in control of. Poor kitty is a great spot and just hangs there while she man handles the thing....

She's into everything....including the dryer. 

She's discovering her sense of fashion and LOVES to put on our clothes. Several times she's been "helping me" with the laundry and will end up walking around with a bra around her neck. I didn't catch that on camera yet, but here she is in all her cuteness, wondering if you think Daddy's tshirt makes her look like a princess?

As I wrote in my last post, we went to North Carolina for my Grammy's 80th bday. These next few pictures are from our trip. Emma had her first fast food experience on the ride down.

We got to go swimming at a nearby hotel pool. It was all fun and games until an entire wall of glass shattered and we had to get out of the pool. haha Em had fun jumping in off the sides and floating in her little raft.

And last but not least....camp meeting! One of the best parts of camp meeting is going to the snack bar and getting an ice cream cone. Emma mooched well off of cousin Emily! :)

Whew! I made it! Hopefully I'll be able to stay more on top of things now that I'm all caught up. Up next: a wedding in Missouri, co-coordinating a wedding for a friend here in PA, starting to "work" parttime by babysitting a sweet little guy 3 days a week, and lots more! :) 

long time, no see...er, update!

Every time I click onto my blog to check in on some of my favorites, I notice how many days have passed since I've updated. It's getting way too long, and yet the long it gets, the more overwhelming it gets to do a post because...there's just so much to talk about! Plus I still haven't uploaded most of our recent pictures so I kept telling myself I'd post as soon as I did that. Unfortunately, I haven't quite gotten around to that, but I figured I HAD to do a post soon or else I'd lose all my faithful readers! :) So...it's not a fun picture post, but more of an update and "get back in the swing of blogging" type post and I promise to get on those pictures asap!

So, what have we been up to???

The biggest event was a roadtrip to North Carolina last weekend. My grandmother turned 80 and we had a big family party down there for her. Jarred had to work so Em and I road with my parents and littlest brother who had just had his wisdom teeth out the day before. A swollen mouthed teenager and an antsy one year old COULD make for a l.o.n.g. drive, but it went SO WELL!!!! Praise God for grace, grace, grace! Emma couldn't have been any better behaved. Seriously, the angel took normal naps, played with toys, and watched DVDs, and made me oh so stinkin proud in that car! It was really helpful that my parents drove so I could sit in the back with her and keep her entertained. Aside from a weird vomit incident, it was a flawless trip. I'll be sure to post pictures soon.

This week is camp meeting which is incredibly hard to describe if you've never heard of it. Without going into too many unnecessary details, I'll just say that lots of Jarred's family are in town for it so we've been busy hanging out with them during all of our free time. Lots of trips to the snack bar (YUM), taking them out on the boat (FUN), and just relaxing with fun people!

Well, the little lady just woke up from her nap so it looks like that's all the time I have for updating. Stay tuned for much more interesting, picture filled posts in the near future. Thanks for bearing with me! :)
