On Friday we have the "big ultrasound" to find out if we're going to have another sweet baby girl or entering the world of trucks, mud, and little boy fun. Although I'm sure not knowing what you're having adds another dimension of excitement and anticipation to the birth, we have no regrets about finding out at 20 weeks. Honesty, I love finding out. It allows us to plan, prepare, decide on a name, etc etc. More than that though, I like having little celebrations throughout the whole pregnancy. First you find out you're expecting, then around 10 weeks you get to hear the heartbeat for the first time, then you start to feel little flutters, then you get to find out the gender. It's so exciting....the day before the ultrasound always feels like Christmas Eve to me. :) I just wish there was something exciting for around 30 weeks because the 20 weeks after the ultrasound can get a little long... haha
Anyway, we've been anticipating the ultrasound and debating what we're having. The other night, Jarred put his hand on my belly and said,
"I think it's a bull - er, I mean, boy."
I literally laughed out loud. Did he seriously just call our baby a bull? For those of you who don't speak cow, a bull is a boy cow. (Heffer is a female cow who hasn't had a calf, cow is a female cow who has had a cow. You're welcome for that little lesson.) We have calves pretty much daily here on the farm so he's very used to saying "it's a bull or it's a heffer." As long as he doesn't talk about me freshening or getting the winch out to help pull out the baby, we'll be alright. Good grief.... haha.
Any guesses, boy or girl? :)
