Vacation, eh?

ahh, I miss vacation already! :) This is my aunt and uncles back yard, and where we spent most of our days during vacation. I was born in Ontario, Canada and most of my extended family still lives there so we made a quick trip up to visit (we haven't seen most of them since our wedding so they loved meeting the kids!) The town they live in is right on Lake Huron....the water is gorgeous isn't it??

Feeling the sand beneath her toes for the first time!

This is Emma playing with my cousin's little boy....They had so much fun together playing in the waves!

my two favorite men!

naps on the beach are the best!

Traveling 9 hours away with a 3 month old and a 2 year old was no small feat, but it was so so worth it. Introducing my kids to their great grandmother who can't travel anymore, watching my hubby truly rest (and take naps every day snuggled up with his little girl), sharing a special place from my childhood with my family, and spending time together as a family were just a few of the highlights for me!

I had to laugh when Jarred turned to me on the way home and commented on how surprised he was that everyone said "eh" nearly every other sentence. He had thought that was just a stereotype. haha :)

Randoms

Surprise! We're back from the vacation you didn't know we went on! :)
I don't like to broadcast across the internet the fact that we're leaving the country so I try not to mention trips until we're back.

We left last Friday for a quick visit to my extended family in Canada. We drove through the night and although I had some hesitations about it, it was the best decision we made. The kids slept through almost the entire 9 hour drive and we had next to no traffic. We spent 4 days enjoying the beach, relatives, and Tim Hortons. :) I'll do another post after I upload my pictures but for now I just wanted to say HI and WE'RE BACK!

-------------

My sister-in-law has moved in with us. This past fall she moved back to PA after living in North Carolina for 7 years. She moved into the little house we own and rent out. Finances were getting a little tight so she decided to move out. She got several offers from family members on places to live but ended up deciding to live with us in the big spare room we have. Emma still hasn't figured out that she's here to stay so every time we drive home she spots her car and yells "Aunt Jessie's here!!!" haha It's fun and we love her so it'll be great to have her with us for a season.

As I typed "PA" up there it reminded me of something totally random that I always wonder about. I'm pretty sure Pennsylvania is the only state that also calls itself by it's abbreviation. (Meaning, it's totally normal for us to say....P-A or Pennsylvania) Do you guys know of any other state that does this? Florida never goes by FL. North Dakota doesn't call itself ND. Weird....

We aren't coffee drinkers at our house, but Jess likes it so she's been brewing a pot every morning. I am loving the warm aroma to come downstairs to and there's always a little bit left in the pot. I've been indulging in a late afternoon iced coffee drink and it's oh-so-yummy. I could get used to this.

My girl hurt her foot yesterday and she's been limping ever since. It's pathetic and sad to watch. I'm 98% sure it's not a big deal because she can wiggle all of her toes, bend her foot and ankle in all directions and I pressed all over it and she never once whimpered or told me it hurt. I'm thinking she probably bruised her heel and it'll be fine in a few days. Poor thing.

This post is boring me. Are you bored??  I'll wrap up and promise to do a more exciting, picture filled post next time. :) For now, I've got post vacation cleaning to do....
